The OnePlus Open, a foldable smartphone, is likely to be released shortly. The phone was initially teased during the Cloud 11 launch event in February of this year. According to leaked design images, the phone would be available in black, gold, and green colour variants. Several rumours have also speculated on the claimed features of the Shenzhen-based mobile manufacturer's first book-style foldable smartphone. A recent report speculates on the foldable's likely release date. Because the model has already been claimed to go by numerous other names without official confirmation, a tipter has also hinted at the most likely name.

The OnePlus V Fold or OnePlus Open is expected to be released on August 29, according to a SmartPrix story quoting tipster Arvind. According to previous rumours, the phone would be released in China first, followed by a gradual worldwide rollout that will include India and the United States.

Meanwhile, Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) revealed in a tweet that the OnePlus foldable would most likely be called the OnePlus Open. According to the source, the phone will include "excellent" screens, cameras, speakers, and other technology, as well as a really outstanding design and texture.

The OnePlus Open is expected to include a 7.8-inch 2K AMOLED inner screen and a 6.3-inch AMOLED outside display, both with 120Hz refresh rates. It will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The phone is believed to include a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel sensor with a periscope lens on the back panel. It is also expected to include two 32-megapixel front-facing camera sensors.

The phone's leaked renderings reveal a lychee-like leather finish with a huge circular center-aligned camera module. The Hasselblad-branded cameras are rumoured to use a periscope lens, which is said to provide higher-quality zoomed-in photographs with less noise and loss. The OnePlus Open is expected to be available in black, gold, and green colour options.
