The Google Pixel 8 series, which includes the next-generation Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, is set to launch in October. We haven't heard any official word from Google on the arrival of either device, but a fresh leak has provided data about the battery capacity and charging speed of the incoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which are believed to bring advancements in both sectors over the Pixel 7 series. The Pixel 8 is expected to ship with a 4,485mAh battery and 24W wired charging, while the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to ship with a 4,950mAh battery and 27W wired charging.
According to a rumour by Android Authority quoting a Google source, the future Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will have larger batteries and faster charging speeds than last year's Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The vanilla variant will allegedly support 24W fast wired charging (up from 20W), while the Pixel 8 Pro may support 27W charging (the Pixel 7 Pro supports 23W cable charging).
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro from last year enable 20W and 23W wired charging, respectively. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, like its predecessors, will purportedly provide 20W and 23W proprietary wireless charging, respectively, as well as 12W Qi wireless charging.
According to the source, Google will make minor improvements to the battery capacity of both devices. The Pixel 8 is rumoured to have a battery capacity of 4,485mAh. This would be an improvement over the Pixel 7's 4,270mAh battery. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, is rumoured to have a 4,950mAh battery, up from the Google Pixel 7 Pro's 4,926mAh.

The Pro model would apparently retain ultra-wideband (UWB) capability, which enables for exact distance measuring between devices.
