On February 1st, Samsung held its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year in San Francisco. As the next-generation Galaxy Z foldable smartphone series approaches, Lee Young-hee, President of Samsung DX's Global Marketing Centre, has purportedly disclosed the site of the upcoming Unpacked event. Instead of the United States or Europe, the Suwon-based business will hold its next major Galaxy Unpacked event to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Seoul, South Korea. This is not the first time Samsung has chosen Seoul as the place for the launching of its high-end smartphones. The Galaxy Note 20 series was practically launched in Seoul in 2020.
According to Yonhap News (Korean), Lee Young-hee confirmed that the future Unpacked event will be held in Seoul, South Korea. She apparently confirmed the news during a press conference at the Shilla Hotel for the Samsung Ho-Am Award Ceremony. When asked why the event was being held in Seoul, Young-hee allegedly stated, "because Korea is meaningful and important."
Previously, Samsung hosted its main smartphone announcement events in either the United States or Europe. The Galaxy Note 20 series was announced in South Korea in 2020, however it was a virtual event.
